Ayrton Senna da Silva was and still is one of the most recognized names on the planet! His name rivals the likes of Pele , Ali, and Jordan. Senna was more than just a Formula One racing driver, Ayrton Senna had become Formula One himself. Racing was in his blood, because he was born to be the fastest.
His statistics are among the best ever in F-1. Some will argue the case against Ayrton Senna as the greatest! The will shout Fangio, Clark, Stewart, Prost, and today Michael Schumacher. In theory, Only Juan-Manuel Fangio touted the legend of F-1 God before Senna! Since Senna's death, Michael Schumacher now lays claim to it! But, in all of the world of motor sport, Ayrton Senna da Silva was and still is the only god of F-1!
His mystical presents, his words, his being, his emotions, his convictions and his believes all drew everyone to him. You could hate him one minute and be in total armament the next over his abilities to control a race car! His presents when he walked by seem to touch everyone around him. Words cannot describe the feeling that you felt knowing that Senna had just look you in the eyes! You felt touched by a source of inner peace and wisdom.
His presents on the track was even more commanding! You knew you were in trouble when that bright yellow helmet with the Brazilian colors came up behind you. It was so bright that some drivers saw it four or five cars back! Some drivers just simply moved over while being lapped, as almost a command from a higher presents!
His competitors hated him yet respected him even more. For they knew if they lost to Senna, they had been beaten by the best! And if they manage to beat him, then nothing was sweeter than a victory over the God of F-1!
I will introduce a new section each month on Ayrton Senna da Silva! I will share a vase collection of photos that I have amassed over the last 18 years. Some are photos that I have taken in my experiences as a motor sports photojournalist, and many more from the greatest photographers in F-1!
I will express my thoughts on watching & experiencing Ayrton Senna's career. From his days at the Toleman Team, to his final season with Williams. Through his triumph's, his 3 World Championships, 41 victories, and 65 pole positions. and the controversy, his run in's with Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell, Nelson Piquet, and Jean-Marie Balestre.
